Take Photos While You Can

baby sitting on bike trail holding a fern leaf It's been quite a while since I've taken the time to write a blog post, but something has happened recently that made me take a step back and think about life a little bit.  A friend of mine passed away recently.  He was a good man.  He cared about his family and took care of them.  Calling his passing a tragedy would be an understatement, especially considering the circumstances of how it happened and the future his family now faces without him.

So, maybe you're wondering why I have a picture of a baby preceeding that paragraph.  Well, that's my son (which you'd realize if you've even skimmed by blog).  His name is Jaxson, and he's my baby boy.  I love that little guy more than just about anything.

My friend's passing has made me realize just how important my son is, how important my wife is, and how important all of my friends are.  We have no guarantees in this life.  None.  Sure, the sun will rise every day in the east and set in the west, but you're not guaranteed to see it.  You're not even guaranteed another breath.

Engagement Session with Trevaris and Citierra

Here's another photo session I did with a great couple named Trevaris and Citierra.  Trevaris is in the Air Force and he had just came back from a tour in Iraq to surprise his long time girlfriend with an engagement ring.  Of course, she said yes and now they are in the planning stages of their big day.  They booked an engagement session that ended up being rewarding for all of us.  They were fun, energetic and did well in front of the camera and I most certainly got some great photos that went into my portfolio.

Family photos with the Dentons

Another photo shoot, going back to last summer, that I never had to time to properly write about and that I absolutely enjoyed was with the Denton family.  I've known Tim and Jen and their kids for years now, even having worked with Tim some years ago in a dental warehouse.  This was the second year that I'd taken their family photos and it was better than the last, by far.  The main reason for that was the kids.  All three of them were a year older and each showed more personality.  The daughter, Alivia, is practically a model at her young age, striking a pose and flashing a smile pretty much on que.  Tim and Jen have a wonderful family and it's always fun to get them in front of the camera.

Baby meets grass, eats it

I had a few photo shoots today and I won't be able to get to editing them tonight (my wife said I have put up some kind of decorations, I have no clue as to what she's talking about).  So, to satisfy my curiosity, I took a quick peak at a few of the photos and came across this outtake of little baby Brady Kinder.

Why wouldn't a baby, placed on the ground, eat the grass?

I mean, what else would you expect?
